Jr. Livestock Auction’s list of additional buyers and donors continues – Red Bluff Daily News

There were so many additional buyers and donors at this year’s Tehama Jr. District Cattle Auction, I ran out of space last week.

This year, the 253 lots with the extra cash were at $ 1,093,889.73 on May 20, including the $ 164,025.10 in extra dollars. Auctioneers Matt Wolters and Jake Parnell were up for auction.

The community is very generous as the average cash prices were incredible. 44 steers averaged $ 8.18 per pound. I’ve heard the cheapest is $ 4 and they weigh over 1000 pounds. 21 lambs weigh an average of $ 19 per lb. 113 pigs weigh an average of $ 13.88 lbs. 21 goats weigh an average of $ 22.84 lbs. 10 rabbit pens weigh an average of $ 82 lbs.

I wish I had known this run as it would have been fun to watch it from Red Bluff River Park in the shade, or from friends or family’s terraces overlooking the river on Sunday 30. Thanks to Irene Fuller from m ‘having talked about it.

“From Red Bluff Run Down

“There is a professional river race at Red Bluff (May 30). The California River Quest 100 mile race started at dawn in Redding and ends in Chico. There are kayaks, paddleboards and canoes that will pass through Tehama County between 8:30 am and 6 pm. If you are on the river watch out for runners and if you are on land cheer them on.

RFD-TV hosted Rodeo Alaska, a PRCA Extreme Bulls rodeo in Palmer, Alaska, on Sunday at 10 a.m. Sage Kimsey posted photos on Facebook, as many competitors came early to visit Alaska.

District 1 CHSRA alumni TJ Gray and Jordan Spears participated, as did Red Bluff’s Colby Deno. Roscoe Jarboe had a 90-point run to win.

We had a wonderful meeting on the old courthouse lawn last Thursday.

There were businesses and organizations represented at 8am with delicious donuts from Kevin’s Donuts and coffee from Legendary Coffee & Juice Bar.

It had been 63 weeks since we last met, and it was good to see familiar faces again and meet new people. Looking forward to the next Good Morning, Red Bluff.

Red Bluff Round-Up presented Red Bluff Rotary with a check for $ 40,288 they won with beer kiosks at the recent rodeo. Bill Cornelius mentioned in his column that Red Bluff Rotary is proud of the thousands of dollars donated in scholarships to local youth.
